Not Sure Which Engine You Have?

Check the engine cover under the bonnet — B48 engines typically have a black plastic cover, while B42 engines with 48V may have an additional wiring harness for the ISG. Alternatively, Bimmer Power Studio automatically identifies your engine during the ECU read process. Read our B48 vs B42 comparison for more identification tips.

What You Need

ENET Cable — Standard OBD2-to-Ethernet cable (RJ45 connector)
Windows Laptop — Windows 10 or 11 with Ethernet port (or USB-to-Ethernet adapter)
Bimmer Power Studio Software — Licensed and registered to your account
Stable Power — Battery charger connected during flash (recommended)

Markets and Regional Variants

Our calibration covers all regional market variants of the G20 320i, including European (ECE), US (USDM), and other international specifications. The Bosch MG1 DME architecture is consistent across all markets — only the factory calibration values differ.

Market-specific emissions parameters are handled on a per-calibration basis to ensure compliance with your region's requirements.

Unsupported Configurations

The following configurations are not currently supported:

• BMW 320d / 320d xDrive (diesel B47/B47D engine, different DME platform)
• BMW 330i / 330e (B48B20T1, different output variant — support planned)
• BMW M340i (B58 engine, different architecture)
• Non-G20 platform vehicles (F30/F31 3 Series use different ECUs)
